1. SUPPLY OF EQUIPMENTS:

A. FOR IMPRESSED CURRENT CATHODIC PROTECTION SYSTEM:

a. TRANSFORMER RECTIFIER UNITS

 The Automatic Cathodic Protection unit is a compact, floor mounted, self contained, indoor/outdoor, natural air cooled/oil cooled: sheet steel unit. The unit has a front lockable door on which all indicating meters, lamps and controls are mounted. A careful layout of the power circuit and the control circuit inside the unit provides access to all components, enabling easy maintenance. The control circuit of the unit is assembled on plug-in type cards for easy servicing.

 

230 Volts single phase AC input and 50 Volts, 50 Amps, D.C Output, Manual / AVCC/ Automatic output controlled, Air-cooled, outdoor pedestal mounted type

b. ANODES AND ACCESSORIES

SILICON CHROMIUM CAST IRON ANODES:

1.      Impressed Current Cathodic Protection System is an efficient, economical and reliable method of protecting underground pipelines / structures from external corrosion on   long term basis

         High-Silicon-Chromium iron due to its inherent property of excellent     resistance to corrosion is being very widely used as " Anodes in Cathodic Protection  System".

 2.    Normal Composition :

            Silicon                        : 14 - 16%

Chromium                   : 4 - 6%

Carbon                        : 1.2% max

Manganese                : 0.85% max

Although anodes can be made of convenient sizes in terms of "Surface area to volume Ratio", the following sizes are readily available.

      50 mm dia x 750 mm long x 75 mm encapsualtion dia                  10.8 kgs.

      50 mm dia x 1000 mm long x 75 mm encapsulation dia                14.5 kgs.

      50 mm dia x 1550 mm long x 75 mm encapsulation dia                22.5 kgs.

  1. For making Anode to tail cable connection suitable silver plated copper

connectors are available 

  1. Centre connected tubular anodes are readily available in the following size

         50 mm I.D. X 75 mm O.D. X 1500 mm length, weighing 25 kg.

         This comes with our specially designed lead connector.

 

c. ANODE JUNCTION BOX

Anode Junction Box for horizontal anode ground bed shall be suitable and has the facility for :

- 1 incoming header cable

- 16 nos of circuit .

- 3 spare terminals for future use.

 

d. PERMANENT REFERENCE ELECTRODES

The permanent reference electrodes will be used for reference pipe to soil potential measurement for automatic control for permanent cathodic protection of various pipelines. It shall be Cu-CuSO4 type. Copper sulphate shall be of chemical grade. It should be non-polarising and should have the lowest possible internal resistance.

Cu/CuSO4 type or zinc reference electrode shall be used.

The cell shall be connected with reference cable and the cap shall be completely incapsulated with araldite for perfect insulation.

The reference cell shall be installed nearer to the pipeline and cable shall be connected to the proper terminal of the rectifier unit / test station.

e. CABLES

Stranded bare copper conductor PVC insulated GI wire armored PVC sheath cables of 650  / 1100 V Grade as per following specifications

 

a. 1 core 16 sq mm cable shall be used for main anode and cathode connections

b. 4 core 2.5 sq mm cable shall be used for test stations permanent pipe to soil measurement system for T.R.Unit and earthing.

c. 1 core 10 sq mm unarmored cable shall be used for anode tail cable.

f. INSULATING FLANGES

Insulating material shall be provided at all flanges where pipeline goes above ground and at all tap off points.

g. MISCELLANEOUS EQUIPMENT

All materials / equipments shall be of reputed and approved makes.

 

 B. FOR CATHODIC PROTECTION SYSTEM BY SACRIFICIAL ANODES METHOD:

Corr-Rad’s all new quartz crystal controlled current interrupter allows synchronization of two or more current interrupters at separate Cathodic Protection Rectifier stations. The same accuracy can be expected as found in the high quality Quartz wrist watches. Simply select the desired time interval on the two digit digital display and start the unit.  THE MODEL QC WILL CONTINUOUSLY CYCLE PRECISELY.

 

 

The model QC Current Interrupter timing span extends from 0 to 99 seconds in exact one second increments for both the ON time as well as the OFF time.  The timing is easily selectable by a two button selector which also doubles as the start and stop switch for the interrupter.

 

The DIGITALLY CONTROLLED SYSTEM WHICH IS COMPLETELY SOLID STATE assures a long useful life under extreme field conditions.  Sixty hours of continuous use from a 12V 7AH maintenance free rechargable battery.  The instrument is housed in a rugged HEAVY DUTY ABS enclosure designed for easy battery access and a protective cover for the panel controls.
